The Cisco VPN client has an annoying feature: the VPN provider can decide if local network access is allowed or not. Got an odd issue when I vpn from my home machine to my office desktop. Both machines are on 1809 and it doesn’t matter if I use SSTP or L2TP. Basically what happens is the VPN connects instantly but when I remote to the machine, rdp says the connection is poor and freezes for a bit, it takes a minute or two then corrects itself. I believe the Juniper uses SSL VPN but am not 100% certain. I will be pushing forward on finding a permanent solution to this, but Plan B might have to do for the time being. [Edit 3]: We gave up, sorry to say. My colleague has been working with Cisco over the last few days to pinpoint the issue and we've been escalated several times. Dec 24, 2016 · After a tv problem AT&T installed a new modem, after which I can no longer access my work computer via tunnel/rdp setup. I can open the tunnel successfully--just can't log in with the rdp link. IT guy can login from his computer using my rdp, so the .rdp isn't the problem, and the office computer is on and accepting what it thinks is me. The VPN connection is an IPSec VPN connection from a SonicWall NSA 2400. The NIC drivers are up to date. The VPN client is up to date. The firmware on the SonicWall is up to date (both regular and the early-release versions work the same). I have attempted to connect over three ISPs all with the same behavior. Re: Cannot RDP to WIndows 10 machines over client VPN As you said, you are also not able to ping to window-10 client, you first need to narrow down the issue, start by taking the packet capture on client VPN and lan interface on MX and see how ICMP traffic looks like, if the firewall is passing the traffic then the troubleshooting should be Mar 10, 2017 · Both Remote Desktop Protocol and Virtual Private Networks (VPN’s) are commonly used services that allow for working away from the office. In this blog you’ll learn why, though they are similar services, VPN is the more secure option of the two. If you don't have a virtual IF for your VPN I'm not sure if that will work as with VoIP it's more than normal routing since the client and the server need to be aware of their adresses as they are submitted during 5060 communication for them being able to create a working RDP stream in both directions.

Sep 16, 2019 · RDP through bookmarks stopped working after upgrading to 9.8.1. We are able to see the Windows prompt to establish the RDP connection, soon after the browser page loads as if it were to bring the rdp session, however it hangs on a connecting state. Using smart tunnels for RDP as well yields the same result.

I am in dire straights over here. We just changed our LAN from a 192.168.1.0 to a 172.16.4.0. We run Active Directory in our environment and our gateway is a Cisco 5505 ASA. Since the change, our clients can VPN in and make a connection but cannot RDP to any machines that they need to get to on the LAN that they VPN into. This issue is occuring over VPN and i have no issue over LAN . Once the rdp connects it then can drop out at any time. The issue has never occured in the past and recently started to happen .
